The Government of Chhattisgarh, on July 09, 2026, has issued a notification under Section 9(1)(a) of the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, remitting the stamp duty payable on instruments executed in favour of the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Development Authority (NRANDA) for the purchase of private land through mutual agreement for the Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Project.
The exemption will apply to land acquisitions undertaken during the financial years 2026–27 and 2027–28 and will remain in force from the date of publication of the notification until March 31, 2028. The measure is intended to facilitate land acquisition for the project by reducing transaction costs.
